Beverly Veterans Participate in Therapeutic Equestrian Program
Veteran residents of Pleasant Street Apartments – a 32-unit apartment community in Beverly, managed by Braintree-based real estate firm Peabody Properties, Inc. and offering permanent, supportive housing for formerly homeless veterans – recently concluded a five-week program at Strongwater Farm Therapeutic Equestrian Center in Tewksbury.
Through Strongwater Farm’s “Horses-for-Heroes” Veterans Program, Pleasant Street Apartments residents received lessons on the basics of riding, grooming and feeding the farm’s horses. Each Friday, the Beverly residents visited the farm for a day of both relaxation and fun, experiencing firsthand the healing power of horses and enjoying a home cooked meal at the end of each session.
